I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Editor and Self Publishing Coach, Sherry Terry. She did a critique/edit on No Regrets in Pairs. She cut through the bull and helped me to improve my writing immeasurably. She also provided me with some wonderful advice and tips on how to self-publish, I can’t thank her enough.
I have worked with Sherry Terry for several years in a writers’ workshop, and her insight has been invaluable. She has helped me to bring many stories from first draft to completion, including two pieces I have sold for publication.
“Patron Saint of the Lowlands” appears in Spark: A Creative Anthology, Volume II, and “Whose Music is the Gladness of the World” in Volume IV of the same publication. For both of these stories, Ms. Terry gave me line-by-line comments as well as impressions of character and story development. Whenever I ask for this kind of assistance, she is usually one of the first and one of the last to look at the story. This is greatly appreciated, as in an online writer’s workshop, it can be difficult to find people to stick with you during the entire process. I have also worked with her on several of her stories and novels in progress. I hope to continue this relationship for years to come.
I’ve had the privilege of knowing Sherry Terry for many years, both professionally and as a good friend. I admire her work ethic – she’s dependable and driven and is a perfectionist in her writing, doing endless hours of research to authenticate her historical fiction, for example. Sherry is also one of the most genuine people you could ever meet- honest to a fault, straightforward and reliable, terribly intelligent and wickedly funny. She is a great person to know, great to work with and so much fun to be around. I highly recommend her in any capacity and personally guarantee that she is of very high character.
I used Sherry Terry to proofread and edit my short story, As Others See Us. The process was easy to arrange, and Sherry maintained good contact.
When I received the piece back I was delighted with the editorial suggestions made. They demonstrated a good comprehension both of the story itself, and my writing style. I am happy to endorse Ms. Terry’s services, and look forward to using them in the future.
